Drive organizational change through design, development, and implementation of methods and tools that will increase operational efficiencies by eliminating or reducing waste for both internal and external customers.  The position will quantify cost trends for pricing models used to create solutions for customers and disseminate the needed adjustments throughout the organization.  The individual will also be responsible for working closely with Operations, Account Management, Sales, and Business Analyst to ensure customer projects are completed in a timely, accurate manner.  The Sr. Supply Chain Engineer will be expected to bring innovative ideas to a dynamic industry and have a profound impact on the strategic direction of the organization and drive business development through both engineering and project management of new business opportunities.

Key Duties

  • Lead internal cost reduction projects through reengineering current supply chain to change modes and flow creating efficiencies while maintaining customer requirements. Ensure and Manage the proper execution of these projects to generate a positive impact on the company’s profitability.
  • Lead initiatives to expand current refrigerated redistribution network to increase revenue opportunities with our customers.
  • Lead the expansion of cross dock locations to reduce transportation cost generating a higher success rate on adding profitable business to the company.
  • Lead supply chain consulting efforts for customers looking to outsource those activities generating a completely new business offering that we do not have today.  This will increase revenue and the company’s profitability.
  • Work directly with Sales and potential or existing customers to identify inefficiencies in their supply chain and reengineer it to create value through mode and flow change. This will be done through managing a cross functional team to supply the needed operational information in order to perform the analysis.  Lead the analytical activities with other engineers and analyst to ensure the optimum solution is presented.  Support efforts to formulate strategies and to create the final response to the potential or existing customer for new business opportunities thus increasing revenue and profitability.
  • Track and report progress to stakeholders
  • Work with Big Data to organize into meaningful information that will be used to drive business decisions

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, and/or Industrial Engineering with at least 7 years work experience
  • Detail oriented with problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team format
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of management, both internal and external
  • Knowledge of 1 supply chain design tool
  • Comprehensive understanding of transportation design parameters and modes
  • Process flow analysis
  • Expert in Excel, Access, and knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills
  • Exposure to a Transportation Management System
  • 10% Travel Required
